Gulfstream business jets are renowned for their performance, quality, reliability and safety. Gulfstream employees are respected for delivering an equivalent level of excellence.

Gulfstream workers enjoy collaborating and sharing ideas. Our diverse population of knowledgeable, educated, team-oriented individuals encompasses a wide range of skills, cultures and interests.

Our Values

Gulfstream applies the same high standards to the conduct of its employees that it does to its aircraft. Five corporate values guide the manner in which we interact with each other:

Pride -- Take pride in the integrity, quality and safety of our products and services.

Respect -- Treat everyone with the greatest respect.

Teamwork -- Work together supportively and safely in an environment of continuous improvement.

Integrity -- Conduct business honestly and ethically.

Stewardship -- Commit ourselves to all stakeholders: our customers, suppliers, employees, stockholders and communities.

Rewards and Recognition

We believe dedicated employees and top performers should be recognized and rewarded. Along with “pay-for-performance,” we have several recognition and bonus programs:

Ideas at Work

Gulfstream employees are invited, on an ongoing basis, to submit their best workplace ideas for consideration and implementation.

Employee Incentive Plan/Management Incentive Plan

Gulfstream offers incentive plans based on a series of annual goals. The annual employee bonus is based on the company’s profitability and each organization’s performance.

Go Above and Beyond - Gulfstream’s Formal Company Recognition Plan

GOAB allows employees to recognize other workers who exceed expectations in the workplace. GOAB awards range in value from $20 to $200 dollars, depending on the level of accomplishment being recognized.

Cash for Skills Incentive (CSI)

CSI is our companywide candidate-referral program. Employees can earn a bonus of up to $5,000 for referring a candidate who becomes an employee.

Employee Drawings

Employees may win tickets to special events ― including NASCAR races, baseball games, golf tournaments and community galas ― through random drawings.

Life/Work

Balancing work and family responsibilities can be a genuine challenge. That’s why we offer resources to help employees and their families find the right balance. Programs include:

Family Scholarships

Each year, we award scholarships to the sons and daughters of employees to help them pay for the college of their choice. Additionally, we reserve a full scholarship to the Savannah College of Art and Design (tuition, room and board) for the son or daughter of a Gulfstream employee.

Discount Programs

Many local and national businesses offer discounts to Gulfstream employees. Discounts are available on new cars, cell-phone plans, movie tickets, restaurant meals, vehicle repairs and more.

Health & Wellness

Our Partners 2 Health program offers Gulfstream families comprehensive, low-cost benefits that provide outstanding care and choices.

Special Events

Each Gulfstream site has an annual picnic for employees and their families. In Savannah, it’s a day of fun at the Gulfstream picnic grove. In Long Beach, it can be a trip to a theme park. At other sites, it’s a visit to a sporting event or entertainment venue.

YMCA Membership

Gulfstream subsidizes the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc. As a result, employees and their families may obtain a YMCA membership at a greatly reduced cost. They also pay no enrollment fee. The monthly YMCA fee is a modest amount that’s deducted from the employee’s weekly paycheck.

Child Care

Day care services for young children are provided at the YMCA Child Learning Center in Pooler, just minutes from the Savannah manufacturing facility. Because the company subsidizes the YMCA, Gulfstream employees receive priority placement at the center.

Car Pools

Employees may join a car pool to reduce the cost of commuting to work. In Savannah, employees may register with a ride-share system through Coastal Commuters, then share information on their route and time preferences. In Long Beach, the company offers incentives to employees who share the ride to work. Participating employees earn points they can redeem for gift cards, gas vouchers or a day off. Car-poolers also are eligible for preferred parking spots.

Flexible Work Schedules

Not everyone at Gulfstream works a five-day week. Recognizing that the work-life balance sometimes requires flexibility, Gulfstream offers a choice of work schedules that enable employees to work full time and still meet their family obligations.

Vacation

Gulfstream offers a competitive vacation allowance that provides for up to 80 hours of paid vacation for full-time employees in the first year of service. Employees who work a standard five-day-per-week shift also receive at least 11 holidays with pay.

Excellence Awards

Gulfstream and its parent firm, General Dynamics, received the Aviation Week Laureate Award for 2008 in the Business/General Aviation category. This award recognized the General Dynamics and Gulfstream management team for developing "industry-leading business-aviation products and services with global reach and significance."

This is not the first recognition Gulfstream has earned for technological excellence. Gulfstream was awarded the 2003 Robert J. Collier Trophy for developing the G550 business jet. The Collier Trophy is the most prestigious award in aeronautics or astronautics in North America. This was the second time in less than a decade that Gulfstream had been so honored. The team that developed the GV, the world's first ultra-long-range business jet, was honored with the 1997 Collier Trophy.

Employer Awards

Gulfstream received the 2007 Savannah Area Manufacturers Council Award for Safety for setting the standard in a safe work environment. Gulfstream’s injury rate is less than one-quarter of the industry average. The company attributes its success to three distinct programs: safety awareness, safety training and medical management/workers’ compensation.

To top it all off, Gulfstream was voted the “Best Company to Work For” in Savannah Magazine’s 2009 Best of Savannah readers’ survey.
