Community
Proudly serving our communities.
The company's leadership status applies not only to aviation but also to our position in the community. We are equally committed to enhancing the quality of life where we work and live.
Our commitment to the Savannah area (the home of our largest site and our corporate headquarters) is well known in the community. In addition to Gulfstream and its employees being the two largest contributors to the United Way of the Coastal Empire, each year we support approximately 60 separate local charitable organizations and activities.
For example, during the annual Savannah Music Festival, more than 15,000 students participated in free performances made possible by the Gulfstream Music Education Series. Gulfstream also is the major corporate sponsor of the Live Oak Public Library's Savannah Children's Book Festival, the school tour program of the Telfair Museum of Art, The Savannah Black Heritage Festival, Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity and many other community events and offerings.
To formally acknowledge our leadership role in civic affairs, the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce recently named its annual community relations honor (which is presented to a local company) the Gulfstream Community Involvement Award.
Employees at other sites also support their communities. Their many charitable efforts include a holiday toy collection in Long Beach, food and clothing drives for the homeless in Dallas and fund-raising for a children's museum and toy purchases in Appleton.
Along with contributing to the United Way, employees participate in company-sponsored charitable activities — such as donating their time to mentor in schools or holding a picnic to raise funds for a local nonprofit organization. In their personal time, employees also volunteer in schools, congregations, service clubs and nonprofit organizations in their communities.
