Customer Program Management
| Charlie has over 20 years
experience within the aerospace industry as a Program
and Project Manager. The combination of work experience
and his educational background has provided him with
the ability to understand various situations and come
to mutually acceptable resolutions that produce "win-win" outcomes
for both internal and external customers. He began
his career as a contract administrator managing government
contracts that dealt with Peacekeeper and Intercontinental
missiles. As a Program Manager he oversaw the initial
stages of the Space Station Program, having responsibility
for over $9 million in electrical/mechanical connectors.
His aviation experience started in 1994 at Boeing Aerospace,
as a Project Manager of 20 various projects, which
included work on the MD-11, MD-80 and MD-90 commercial
jet programs. While at Gulfstream he initiated and developed the coordination and monitoring process of ASC, CB & ACB at the Long Beach facility to allow for a smooth implementation prior to aircraft delivery. Shortly thereafter, Charlie formed a team that would review upfront design packages and drawings in order to reduce the amount of rework to the production floor, while at the same time generate more consistent and standard engineering drawings. The Design Quality Team was started in May 2000 and has produced significant improvements in engineering drawings as well as with the matching of customer expectations to design packages and specifications. In November of 2000, Charlie took over the management of the Manufacturing Engineering department consisting of planners and a manufacturing liaison group. It was established in an effort to develop a new planning process that works within our current operating systems and as a result has been accountable for increased efficiencies and reduction of labor hours in both assembly and installation of parts on the aircraft. Charlie was appointed Customer Program Manager in September 2001, based out of the Gulfstream facility in Long Beach California. He delivered the first G550 out of Long Beach in September 2003 and since then has worked with domestic as well as numerous international customers on G550 deliveries and exportation of the aircrafts. Charlie has earned his certification in Government Contract Management from UCLA. He has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University, and he received his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Business and Management. |
