Dan has over 33 years of experience in military and civilian aviation. He served 4 years in the United States Air Force as a mechanic on B-52 and KC 135 aircraft. After serving in the Air Force, Dan attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and received his Airframe & Powerplant License in 1973. He then worked on a variety of general aviation aircraft at various locations in Michigan and West Virginia.

In 1982, Dan became the Chief of Maintenance for McJunkin Corp in Charleston, WV maintaining their 1124 Westwind. He was then hired by Israel Aircraft Industries in 1986 as a technical service representative, supporting the 1124 Westwind and the growing fleet of 1125 Astra aircraft. In 1988, IAI formed Astra Jet Corp, located in New Castle, DE, which was the central support headquarters for all of the IAI products. Dan worked in the central office until it was purchased by Galaxy Aerospace in 1997. Galaxy Aerospace relocated the main headquarters to Fort Worth, TX and Dan remained in Delaware as a field service rep covering the Mid-Atlantic region.

Dan is a FAA-licensed Airframe and Powerplant mechanic, holds a private pilots license and has completed initial maintenance training from FlightSafety on the Gulfstream G100, G150, G200, GIV, GV, G450 and G550 business jets.
