Walt joined the US Air Force in 1958 and attended numerous technical schools for flight line engine mechanic. He worked on C130, C133, C124, C97, C121 C130 and C133 aircraft.

After leaving the Air Force, he obtained an A&P license and went to work for Republic Aircraft in Farmingdale, Long Island working on the preparation for delivery and final line of the F105.

A short time later he went to work for Grumman Aircraft (later to become Gulfstream Aerospace) as a crew Chief on the E2A Hawkeye. He worked final flights and delivery to the navy and joined the GII flight test program. He was on the flight test program of the GII at Calverton, Long Island. When the flight test program was completed he returned to Bethpage as night manager on the final prep and delivery line for the first 18 aircraft completed at Grumman Bethpage.

Walt moved to a crew chief position in the corporate fleet, which at that time had the two flight test GIIs and three G1s. Walt was instrumental in installation of the first EPA can systems as well as the first Hush Kit Reversers and the new Task boost pumps.

He then joined the field services organization and worked the northeast area for 16 years. He then relocated to Los Angeles in 1987 where he is currently working.
