GULFSTREAM IV-SP COMPLETES NONSTOP RECORD FLIGHT EN ROUTE TO MOSCOW AIR SHOW
Gulfstream Files for High-Speed Record On Nonstop Flight from Bedford (MA) to Moscow
Savannah, Georgia, Sept. 5, 2001 - Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE:GD), will file for a world speed record for a Gulfstream IV-SP nonstop flight Aug. 12 from Bedford, MA, to Moscow. The aircraft was en route to Moscow to take part in the Moscow Air Show.
The fully outfitted Gulfstream IV-SP business jet aircraft departed Bedford's Hanscom Field carrying four passengers and a crew of three on Aug. 12. The aircraft reached a maximum cruise speed of Mach .80 before landing with NBAA IFR reserves at Vnukovo Airport in Moscow. The long-range Gulfstream IV-SP completed the 3,895-nautical-mile flight in 8 hours, 23 minutes.
Gulfstream will file for world speed records in two categories: C1.K (airplanes in the 55,116 pound to 77,162 pound weight class), and the unlimited weight class.

Bob McKinney, Med Ragheb and Kitty Ramage were the flight crew on the GIV-SP during the record flight.
The GIV-SP was on display at Moscow's Zhukovsky Airport through August 16 for the Moscow Air Show.
