GULFSTREAM 200® FILES FOR TWO CITY-PAIR RECORDS
Gulfstream Seeks NAA Recognition of World-Record Flights

Savannah, GA, March 1, 2001 - Gulfstream Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has filed applications for two new world-speed records with the FAI (Federation Aeronautique Internationale) for nonstop flights by its Gulfstream 200 super mid-size business jet aircraft.

On February 23, 2002 the G200 completed the following flights:

  • Fort Worth to Anchorage, 417 knots, 6 hours and 17 minutes
  • Anchorage to Sapporo, 413 knots, 6 hours and 17 minutes

"The Gulfstream 200 leads the super mid-size category," said Joe Walker, Sr. Vice President Worldwide Sales, Gulfstream Aerospace. "We are very pleased with its success and are especially excited about the recent order for three Gulfstream 200s from Hainan Airlines," he added. "The balanced performance of this super mid-size aircraft ensures flights from Tokyo to Singapore and Berlin to Delhi are nonstop."

Gulfstream has filed for city-pairs records in weight class C-1H.

Captain Scott Evans, chief pilot and Captain Brad Robinson, co-pilot, and Captain Steve Johnson, senior international pilot and Captain Kevin Bixler, co-pilot flew the record-breaking flights.

Data on each of the two legs has been submitted to the National Aeronautic Association, the U.S. representative of the FAI, for review.

From a comfort perspective, the Gulfstream 200 has the largest cabin volume in the super
mid-size business jet category and is powered by twin Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306A engines, each rated at 6,040 pounds.
