TWO GULFSTREAM G300 BUSINESS JET AIRCRAFT TO SERVE DUAL ROLES FOR ROYAL JET
United Arab Emirates Business Jet Operator Chooses Multi-Purpose Aircraft for its Built-in Flexibility
SAVANNAH, Ga., May 5, 2003 - Gulfstream Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), will provide Royal Jet with two large-cabin, mid-range Gulfstream G300 Multi-Purpose Aircraft (MPA) that feature convertible interiors to meet the needs of two types of missions – VIP/executive charter and medical transport.
Royal Jet, a new business jet operator located at the Abu Dhabi International Airport in the United Arab Emirates, is the first customer to order the G300. The company, which is jointly owned by Amiri Flight and Abu Dhabi Aviation, chose the G300 MPA for its reliability and flexibility.
" The Gulfstream G300 fits ideally into the environment of our newly founded company," says Capt. Tilmann Gabriel, CEO, Royal Jet. "Royal Jet's mission to exceed customer expectations in reliability, customer care and safety will be ideally served by the Gulfstream G300 and Gulfstream's business aircraft experience. With the dual concept of luxury VIP as well as medical flights, the Gulfstream G300 MPA will be Royal Jet's backbone in the start-up phase as a new aircraft charter provider in the Gulf Region."
The newly developed G300 MPA cabin easily converts from a 14-seat VIP passenger configuration to a medical transport by replacing removable club seats with self-contained medical beds. The spacious cabin can accommodate two self-contained bed modules equipped with oxygen, compressed air, suction and A/C power and provides privacy for the patient, family and medical staff. Additionally, Royal Jet’s new multi-purpose aircraft will feature a patient-loading system that optimizes the patient’s comfort and safety when boarding the aircraft.
“These G300 MPA aircraft provide Royal Jet exceptional value by meeting its accommodation requirements for dual-mission purposes with an easily convertible interior specifically designed to fit seamlessly in the standard G300 cabin,” said Bryan Moss, president, Gulfstream. “The built-in versatility of the G300 MPA makes it easy on the operator when converting the interior from a business to a medical environment. Additionally, the abundant amount of natural light, 100 percent fresh air and the maximum cabin altitude of 6,500 feet maximize executive and medical passengers’ overall comfort.”
With more than a decade of experience producing medical transport and evacuation aircraft, Gulfstream has delivered 15 medical transport/evacuation aircraft to customers around the world. Gulfstream offers the knowledge and experience of a special missions program office and team that are dedicated to providing training, start-up assistance, and recommendations concerning medical instruments, kits and supplies.
The Gulfstream G300 Multi-Purpose Aircraft addresses an emerging market segment – one that requires a spacious cabin with standup headroom, generous aisle space and a flexible floor plan that can accommodate club seats, work tables, medical beds and passenger-loading devices without requiring extensive aircraft modifications. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Tay engines, the large-cabin, mid-range aircraft can fly 3,600 nautical miles nonstop, fly at a maximum speed of .80 Mach and reach an altitude of 45,000 feet.
