GULFSTREAM G200 RECEIVES TYPE CERTIFICATE FROM EUROPEAN AVIATION SAFETY AGENCY
New Type Certificate Makes Large-Cabin, Mid-Range Business Jet Eligible for Registration in European Union Member Countries

SAVANNAH, Ga., Sept. 7, 2004 – Gulfstream Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has received a type certificate for its G200 business-jet aircraft from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

“This is a milestone day for the G200 team,” said Bryan Moss, president, Gulfstream. “With this new EASA type certificate, it means the G200 is now eligible for registration in all European Union member countries. I am confident it will cause many European business-jet customers to take an even closer look at this impressive business jet.”

G200 aircraft are manufactured at Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) in Tel Aviv, Israel, and then flown to Gulfstream’s final phase manufacturing facility in Dallas.

“We share with Gulfstream the good news of EASA’s certification of the G200,” said Moshe Keret, president and chief executive officer, Israel Aircraft Industries.

On August 31, Gulfstream and IAI rolled out the 100th G200 aircraft at a ceremony in Tel Aviv. Since 2001 when Gulfstream purchased the G200, the company has delivered 67 outfitted G200s. By the end of the second quarter of this year, the in-service G200 fleet has flown a total of 70,522 flight hours and completed 43,496 take-offs and landings.

NOTES TO EDITORS

The G200 offers seating configurations that can accommodate up to 10 passengers. Its outstanding performance characteristics include excellent climb, high-cruising altitude, high-speed, long-range and short-landing capabilities. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW 306A engines, the G200 can reach speeds up to Mach .85, altitudes up to 45,000 feet and a range of 3,400 nautical miles. With low ambient noise levels, 100 percent fresh air and natural light from generous windows, the cabin provides a comfortable workspace for busy travelers.

As with every Gulfstream aircraft, the design of the G200 cockpit incorporates industry-leading technology. In addition to the Engine Indicating and Crew Alert System (EICAS), the flight deck features an Electronic Flight Instrument System (EFIS), which provides critical electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems information at a glance. For efficiency and safety, the G200 also includes the TCAS (Traffic alert and Collision Avoidance System) and EGPWS (Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System) with windshear warning. Earlier this year, Gulfstream began offering Safe Flight Instrument Corporation’s Enhanced Autopower® Automatic Throttle System (ATS) as a retrofit on in-service G200s and as optional equipment on new G200s.
