Gulfstreams Award-Winning Service Centers
Shine with Six New Diamonds
SAVANNAH, Ga., Sept. 8, 2004 Gulfstream Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), announces that all six of its service centers have earned employer Aviation Maintenance Training (AMT) Diamond Certificates of Excellence from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Gulfstreams six service centers are located in Long Beach, Calif.; Dallas; Appleton, Wis.; Savannah, Ga.; Brunswick, Ga.; and Luton, England. Gulfstreams London Luton facility is the first service center outside the United States to be so recognized by the FAA.
This is an outstanding effort by all of our Gulfstream maintenance technicians, said Larry Flynn, president, product support, Gulfstream. We continue to rank at the top of virtually every product support survey as a result of the dedication, professionalism and expertise our support personnel bring to the hangar floor everyday.
Each year, representatives of the FAAs Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) program issue five levels of training certificates - Bronze, Silver, Gold, Ruby and Diamond - to eligible technicians and employers. The employer Diamond Certificate is awarded when 25 percent of each sites eligible employees receive a minimum of six hours of training during the course of a year. The AMT certificate program, which began in 1992, promotes safety and expertise through ongoing training of aviation maintenance technicians.
