GULFSTREAM APPOINTS BILL M. WILLIAMS AS DIRECTOR OF INITIAL PHASE PROCUREMENT, MATERIALS
SAVANNAH, Ga., Dec. 13, 2005 -- Bill M. Williams has joined Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. as director of initial phase procurement, materials. In this position, Williams will oversee the procurement of materials used in the initial phase of manufacturing large-cabin business-jet aircraft up to the point when aircraft receive their Certificates of Airworthiness from the Federal Aviation Administration.
Prior to joining Gulfstream, Williams was vice president of supply chain at GKN Aerostructures Group in St. Louis. While there, he also served as senior director of supply chain and information technology and as director of strategic sourcing. Earlier in his career, Williams held material management positions for Alladin Industries, TRW Aeronautical Systems, Saturn Manufacturing Corp., Nissan Motoring Manufacturing Corp. and Ingersoll Rand.
Williams earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Lambuth College in Jackson, Tenn. During his career, he has completed a number of courses in Lean Manufacturing.
