GULFSTREAM G450 BUSINESS JET SETS SPEED RECORD BETWEEN DENVER AND HONOLULU
SAVANNAH, Ga., March 10, 2006 – A large-cabin, long-range Gulfstream G450 business jet recently established a new city-pair speed record between Denver’s Centennial Airport and Honolulu Airport on the island of Oahu. The aircraft flew 2,944 nautical miles in 7 hours and 7 minutes, at an average speed of Mach 0.84 and with an average headwind of 61 knots. It landed with 4,900 pounds of fuel remaining.
Piloting the G450 was Larry S. Mueller, senior international captain, while Craig “Skip” Wilkerson, senior international captain, served as copilot. In addition to flight attendant Kim Buckelew, six passengers were onboard the flight.
Gulfstream has submitted an application to the National Aeronautic Association to confirm the new city-pair record.
