FALCON AVIATION SERVICES SIGNS UP FOR THIRD GULFSTREAM G450 FOR GROWING MID-EAST MARKETLarge-Cabin, Long-Range Aircraft Meets Market Needs
SAVANNAH , Ga. , June 18, 2007 – Falcon Aviation Services (FAS) of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), which announced in November 2006 its intention to expand into fixed-wing VIP operations from its traditional VIP / Tourism helicopter charter operations, has signed a contract with Gulfstream Aerospace for its third Gulfstream G450 business jet. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed. Delivery of the first FAS G450 is scheduled for the first quarter of 2008; the second G450 is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2009, while the third G450 is scheduled to be delivered in the first quarter of 2010.
"The G450 for Falcon Aviation Services fills a critical mission capability gap for the nonstop Abu Dhabi - London market. There is no other aircraft in the large-cabin segment that offers year-round capability on this critical sector in the price range of the G450,“ said Philip Markham, General Manager, Falcon Aviation Services.
“Gulfstream's strong presence the Middle East region, coupled with a reliable product and benchmark customer support, collectively give FAS the right tool to continue its aggressive growth strategy whilst positively contributing to the development of Abu Dhabi as a tourist and commercial investment destination," continued Mr. Markham.
“We are delighted to have been selected by Falcon Aviation Services to launch their large-cabin, long-range business jet operations,” said Joe Lombardo, president, Gulfstream. “We are determined to justify the confidence FAS has placed in our aircraft and confident FAS customers will appreciate the safety, comfort and reliability offered by the G450.”
FAS sees itself as integral to the development of Abu Dhabi beyond oil and gas and will work closely with the Government Authorities and Tourism Operators to provide the specialized, individual services they require. FAS will work with strategic partners in pursuit of this goal, one of which will be the seven-star Emirates Palace where it already provides VIP helicopter shuttles.
Falcon Aviation Services (FAS) was formed in late 2005 under the initiative of HH Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan to fill a significant gap in the aviation market in the UAE and Gulf Region. FAS provides helicopter charter, aircraft maintenance and aircraft management services. It also holds a contract with the UAE Armed Forces to provide search-and-rescue services with four dedicated state of the art helicopters.
FAS is embarking on an aggressive growth strategy in the Corporate Jet Charter Market in response to the unprecedented development boom in the UAE and Gulf Region. This commitment to growth is underpinned by FAS' order for three G450's in addition to eight light jets.
The total value of aircraft and helicopters currently on order by FAS is in excess of USD $210m.
Headquartered at Bateen Airport, just 10km from Abu Dhabi's City Centre, FAS is ideally located for its clientele. The company's experienced workforce is committed to delivering the highest level of aviation services that establish benchmark standards in quality and customer service.
