GULFSTREAM APPOINTS LAURENCE ‘LARRY’ HANSON ENGINEERING AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE ADMINISTRATOR
Hanson to Oversee Transition of Company’s Designated Engineering Representatives to Authorized Representatives

SAVANNAH, Ga., July 23, 2007 – Laurence “Larry” Hanson has been appointed engineering authorized representative administrator for the Gulfstream Designated Certification Office (GDCO). The GDCO oversees all Organizational Designation Authority (ODA) activities, including efforts to obtain Production, Type and Supplemental Type Certificates from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
In this new position, Hanson will oversee the creation and compliance of engineering Authorized Representative (AR) processes and procedures, including a plan to transition company Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs) to ARs. He also will manage the selection, training and performance of the GDCO engineering ARs.
A 19-year Gulfstream employee, Hanson served most recently as a staff scientist in the Flight Sciences department. He also has served as manager of Flight Sciences and chief DER. Prior to Gulfstream, Hanson worked for Lockheed Martin in Marietta, Ga., for 22 years as a military airlift aircraft loads engineer.
Hanson earned a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Cincinnati and a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. In addition to being an FAA Designated Engineering Representative, he has earned professional manager certification from the Institute of Certified Professional Managers and has held numerous executive positions in the local chapters of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Gulfstream Management Association.
