GULFSTREAM HIRES DAWN M. WINGFIELD
AS GULFSTREAM DESIGNATED CERTIFICATION OFFICE PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR FOR INITIAL PHASE
TYPE CERTIFICATION
SAVANNAH , Ga. , Sept. 12, 2007 – Gulfstream Aerospace has hired Dawn M. 
Wingfield as the program administrator for initial phase type certification for the Gulfstream Designated Certification Office (GDCO). In this position, Wingfield is responsible for ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines for aircraft configuration changes made in the initial phase of manufacturing that affect the model’s Type Certificate.
The GDCO oversees all Organizational Designation Authorization (ODA) activities, including efforts to obtain Production, Type and Supplemental Type Certificates from the FAA. Wingfield’s recent appointment is part of an ongoing effort to staff the GDCO, which was created in October 2006 with encouragement from the FAA.
Wingfield brings 19 years of aviation certification experience to the GDCO. Prior to joining Gulfstream, Wingfield worked for a number of aircraft companies, including both manufacturers and a completions provider. She served in various positions, including a Designated Alteration Station (DAS) administrator; a Delegation Option Authorization (DOA) administrator; a certification manager; a senior regulatory compliance engineer – FAA liaison; an FAA coordinator; and an engineering policies and procedures administrator.
Wingfield has a bachelor’s degree in management from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a master’s degree in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University .
