BRAZILIAN COMPANY TO ITS PRODUCT-SUPPORT NETWORK
Sao Paulo-Based Facility Will Distribute Parts to Gulfstream Operators in
South America
SAVANNAH, Ga., August 13, 2008 –Gulfstream Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has added Morro Vermelho Taxi Aereo Ltda. (MVTA) in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to its international product-support network. The Brazilian-based company will distribute aircraft parts to Gulfstream operators located in or traveling through South America.
“With more than 80 aircraft based in the region, our presence in South America continues to grow,” said Mark Burns, president, Product Support, Gulfstream. “This partnership helps us ensure the operators of these aircraft — as well as the operators of Gulfstream aircraft passing through the region — have the parts they need whenever and wherever they need them.”
Gulfstream distribution centers, such as MVTA, maintain a spare-parts inventory and receive additional parts from a centralized storage facility for quick local dissemination. MVTA joins five other facilities in the Gulfstream international parts-distribution network, including the Gulfstream London-Luton Service Center in London; the MetroJet maintenance facility in Hong Kong; and the Jet Aviation maintenance facilities in Dubai, Moscow and Singapore.
Gulfstream also operates a parts-distribution chain in the United States. Those facilities are in Teterboro, N.J.; Palm Beach, Fla.; Long Beach, Calif.; Dallas and Savannah.
