Companies Partner To Enhance Gulfstream Aircraft Safety and Dispatch Reliability
SAVANNAH, Ga., October 9, 2011 - Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. and FlightSafety International announced today they have joined forces to address the rising trend of handling incidents during transient aircraft operations.
To encourage fixed base operation (FBO) participation in this critical safety initiative, a complimentary preview of FlightSafety's Gulfstream G350/G450/G500/G550 Ground Handling and Servicing eLearning course is available to FBO managers for the remainder of 2011. The course reinforces how ground handlers should move and service Gulfstream aircraft. Best practices developed and used by Gulfstream employees are emphasized to help mitigate risks.
The course covers all aspects of handling and servicing from arrival to departure: parking, fueling, safety walk-around, towing and mooring, water servicing, lavatory servicing, window cleaning, and snow and ice removal.
“Incorrect ground handling procedures continue to cause significant aircraft damage and schedule delays, which impact our customers and the dispatch availability of the Gulfstream fleet,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream Product Support. “We are proud to align our intentions with FlightSafety to provide FBOs worldwide with the information they need to operate more efficiently and with a focus on safety.”
Jet Aviation's facilities in Bedford, Mass., Palm Beach, Fla., and Teterboro, N.J., are the launch FBOs for this training, which will begin this month. It will expand to additional Jet Aviation locations in November 2011.
"Jet Aviation is excited about this opportunity to build our employee development, amplify their service excellence and reinforce their dedication to ramp safety,” said John Langevin, vice president/general manager, FBO Operations, North America.
FBO managers interested in taking the course should contact Liz Robinson, manager, FlightSafety Maintenance Marketing, at 912-790-6828, or visit the Gulfstream or FlightSafety booths this week at the National Business Aviation Association Annual Meeting and Convention in Las Vegas.
FBOs that choose to continue participate in the program will be recognized in Gulfstream customer publications.
