SAVANNAH, Ga., July 25, 2011 - Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. named Mike Quaid as operations manager for the company’s newly formed Western U.S. field service region. He joins fellow managers Bill Fuger, who overseas the Eastern region, and John Maginnis, head of the Central region. All three report to Greg Hammerstein, director, Field Services, Gulfstream.
In his new position, Quaid supervises six field service representatives (FSRs), three in California, one in Washington, one in Colorado and another in Mexico. An FSR responds to the maintenance needs of Gulfstream operators based in, or passing through, a particular region.
Most recently, Quaid was a senior regional FSR based in Southern California, a position he held since 2002. Before that, Quaid was a regional sales manager for the Gulfstream and General Dynamics Aviation Services maintenance facilities, selling services for the full line of Gulfstream products.
Quaid has also worked for Galaxy Aerospace, Astra Jet, Federal Express, Garrett General Aviation, Del Rayo Racing Stables, Airesearch Aviation and Airesearch Turbine Engine Manufacturing.
Quaid, a former member of the U.S. Marine Corps, earned certification in aircraft accident investigation from Southern California Safety Institute, an aviation safety training company based in Torrance. In addition to holding an airframe and power plant license, Quaid is a licensed commercial pilot with single- and multi-engine land and instrument ratings.
