SAVANNAH, Ga., June 13 , 2011 - Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has appointed Jenny Rogers as a sales director in the company’s North American Sales, East Division. Her territory is New England, New York (excluding metro New York City) and in Canada, Quebec and the Maritime provinces. She reports to Jim Dobbins, vice president, North American Sales, East Division.
Rogers replaces aviation industry veteran Geoff Nye, who is retiring. Nye has been a sales director for Gulfstream for more than nine years.
Most recently, Rogers was a New Jersey-based Northeast sales director for Hawker Beechcraft. During more than 3 ½ years in that position, she marketed, sold and delivered more than 30 aircraft.
Rogers, who holds an airline transport pilot’s license, began her career with Hawker Beechcraft in January 2003 as a flight intern. That internship led to a position as a dispatcher, and in October 2003, Rogers joined Hawker’s group of sales demonstration pilots. In nearly four years in that position, Rogers was the pilot in command for sales demonstration and company transportation flights for many aircraft, including the Hawker 400XP and several King Air models.
Rogers earned a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical studies from the University of North Dakota. She is a type-rated pilot on the 400XP and Beechcraft 1900, with more than 3,000 flight hours.
In addition to her aviation experience, Rogers has been a teacher. From October to December 2006, she took a leave of absence from Hawker to volunteer as an English and math teacher in a Tanzanian orphanage. She speaks Swahili, which she learned prior to her volunteer work, and Russian.
