Savannah Facility Has 24 Authorizations To Perform Maintenance And Repair
SAVANNAH, Ga., August 11, 2011 - The Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. service center in Savannah recently earned an approved maintenance organization designation from Brazil.
With this authorization, aircraft registered under Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) can undergo maintenance, repairs, alterations and inspections at the Gulfstream Savannah Service Center. At nearly 700,000 square feet, the center is the largest maintenance facility in the world built specifically for business jets.
Gulfstream Savannah joins Gulfstream's West Palm Beach, Fla., and Dallas service centers as ANAC-authorized facilities.
“Brazil is one of the fastest-growing countries for Gulfstream sales, so having service centers that can handle the maintenance needs of those operators is crucial,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream Product Support. “Brazilian operators can expect the highest level of service and technical expertise available for their aircraft.”
The aircraft covered by Gulfstream Savannah's Brazilian certificate include the G550, G500, G450, G350, G200, G100, GV and GIV.
Gulfstream Savannah is a certified U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and European Aviation Safety Agency Part 145 repair station, which means Savannah's nearly 950 Product Support employees can work on aircraft registered in the U.S. and European Union countries. Gulfstream Savannah also has maintenance approvals from the civil aviation authorities in 22 other countries, republics or territories, including Canada, China and Hong Kong.
In 2010, Savannah's employees serviced 1,450 aircraft More than $750 million of the company's $1.2 billion in spare parts and materials inventory worldwide are housed in Savannah.
