Upgrade Addresses Growing Worldwide Customer Base
SAVANNAH, Ga., Aug 11, 2011 - In recognition of its growing international fleet, Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. now offers its website in five languages: English, Russian, Chinese, Spanish and Portuguese.
“We started this effort in 2010 with the addition of a Russian-language website and the distribution of select news releases in Chinese, Korean and Japanese,” said Larry Flynn, senior vice president, Marketing and Sales, Gulfstream. “Now, in a nod to the popularity of our products in markets such as Brazil and China, we've translated our website into Chinese, Portuguese and Spanish. As our sales continue to diversify, so too will the materials we offer our customers in their native languages.”
The turning point for Gulfstream's international sales occurred in 2007, when, for the first time in the company's history, international sales exceeded domestic. International customers represented more than 70 percent of the company's order book in the first half of 2011, with Asia-Pacific customers accounting for 50 percent.
Visitors to the website (www.gulfstream.com) will be able to select their preferred language from a drop-down menu on the right side of the home page before navigating to the rest of the site. Any future pages they click on will appear in the language they selected.
“We're thrilled that we can connect with our current and potential customers in this way,” Flynn said.
