SAVANNAH, Ga., September 1, 2011 - The Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. facility in Lincoln, Calif., recently opened an aircraft brake repair, modification and overhaul shop. The addition complements the wheel and tire shop that has been in operation since March 2010.
The 34,000-square-foot Lincoln facility, which is approximately 30 miles northeast of Sacramento, is unique from the other nine Gulfstream service centers worldwide since it is dedicated to component repair, modification and overhaul. Gulfstream Savannah and Gulfstream Lincoln are the only company facilities that perform brake maintenance.
“Our Lincoln site offers unique capabilities that are crucial to providing customers with the top-rated support they've come to expect from Gulfstream,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream Product Support. “The more capabilities we have at all of our locations, the better prepared we are to meet customer demand.”
Technicians at Lincoln specialize in GV and GIV brakes, as well as wheels and tires on the G200, G150, GV, GIV and GIII models. The facility's nearly 30 technicians can also work on components built by other original equipment manufacturers, including Bombardier and Hawker Beechcraft.
The Gulfstream Lincoln facility is certified by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and the European Aviation Safety Agency. The site's capabilities include electromechanical, electric and electronic component repair, modification and overhaul; instrument, avionics and rotable repair, modification and overhaul; spare part exchanges and repairs; and government part sales and repairs.
