Field and Airborne Support Teams (FAST)
Gulfstream Field and Airborne Support Teams (FAST) are designed to ensure a swift, well-coordinated response to aircraft on ground (AOG) situations.
FAST members are dispatched by air and ground to respond to maintenance issues in North America, Central America and the Caribbean. More than 20 U.S.-based pilots and technicians working in round-the-clock shifts are ready to respond and are equipped with two Gulfstream G150s as their primary aircraft. Since its inception in 2002, FAST has logged nearly 1,300 flight hours annually.
FAST response in the U.S. has gotten bigger and bolder with a specially equipped 74-foot/22.6-meter tractor-trailer equipped with enough technicians, parts and tools to assist multiple customers simultaneously. With built-in features such as a generator, air compressor, satellite dish and Wi-Fi, and capacity to hold equipment as large as an auxiliary power unit, the newest FAST vehicle is a service center on wheels. FAST has another 20-plus vehicles at its disposal, including specially outfitted response trucks, to cover the U.S. and Europe. In the U.S., FAST trucks are based in the San Francisco Bay area, Houston and New York.
In Europe, FAST is staffed with maintenance engineers in Paris; Athens, Greece; and Geneva and Altenrhein, Switzerland, to respond to maintenance requests across the continent.
