The G280™ boasts the largest cabin in the super mid-sized class. With a stand-up height of over 6 feet (1.83 m) and a cabin length of nearly 26 feet (7.92 m), the G280 has the most cabin volume and over 17 percent more floor area than the competition. In-flight access to the baggage compartment, along with numerous closets and cabinets within the cabin allows for 154 cubic feet (4.36 cu m) of usable storage. An abundance of natural light is provided through 19 large windows. Quiet cabin sound levels, a low 6,000 feet (1,829 m) cabin altitude at 41,000 feet (12,497 m) and 100 percent fresh air reduces fatigue and creates a comfortable environment to work or rest.
Three select floor plans, the Executive, Universal, and Hallmark, provide seating for eight, nine or ten passengers respectively. The large forward galley is comprehensively equipped and has a large counter space with a slide out sink cover for more working area. The aft lavatory is the largest in its class with excellent storage areas in the vanity as well as a floor to ceiling closet. The G280 is the first aircraft in its class to have a vacuum lavatory that uses less water and reduces odors.
Selected major cabin systems on the G280 - the water, waste, lighting, power, cabin control and entertainment systems, for example - are designed with Gulfstream's Cabin Essential™ design philosophy. That means these systems are designed with redundancy similar to aircraft systems to minimize the risk of losing cabin functionality, meaning that no single point of failure will cause the complete loss of functionality in flight.
