G500 Performance
The Gulfstream G500® large-cabin, ultra-long-range business jet is a truly versatile performer, an aircraft equally capable of completing intercontinental missions and short-distance, high-speed runs.
With a range of 5,800 nautical miles at a long-range cruise speed of Mach 0.80 and eight passengers, the G500 can easily link Los Angeles with Tokyo or London with Johannesburg. Departing from Washington, D.C., the G500 can reach virtually any destination on four continents.
To reduce flight times, the G500 can cover 5,100 nm at Mach 0.85 with eight passengers. This high speed capability easily connects Hong Kong to Auckland and Cairo to Tokyo.
Each of the G500's two Rolls-Royce BR710 engines produces 15,385 pounds of thrust, more than enough to attain a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.88. These engines, combined with the G500's remarkable wing, provide a ceiling of 51,000 feet to cruise high above inclement weather, turbulence and commercial traffic. This combination also results in outstanding takeoff performance with the ability to depart a 5,150 ft runway at maximum weight.
The ultra-long-range G550®/500 series aircraft has proven to be extremely popular with Gulfstream operators. In June of 2008, the 200th Gulfstream G550/500 rolled out of our manufacturing plant in Savannah, less than five years after the series was officially introduced at the 2002 NBAA show in Orlando. Together, the G550/500 series aircraft have surpassed 200,000 flight hours.
